Where is the justice in punishing us for Adam's sin?
If the bible itself says that children will not be punished for the parents’ sins (Deut. 24:16). Furthermore, if God really created Adam not knowing either good or evil (Gen 3:22), how could such a harsh and enduring punishment as death for Adam and all his descendants possibly be just? Our secular courts are more just than God when they show mercy on people who cannot distinguish between right and wrong, such as children and the mentally handicapped. And why isn’t this doctrine of original sin found anywhere in the Bible except in Paul’s writings? Why didn’t Jesus ever mention it, or teach it?

Q-1. Where is the justice in punishing us for Adam’s sin?
A-1. On the Cross. Jesus died for us remember?
(also.. do you think you could have done any better? I hope not… you would’ve done the same thing, maybe even worse!)

Q-2: If the bible itself says that children will not be punished for the parents’ sins (Deut. 24:16).
A-2: These were laws being clarified to the jews. I think you’d be a gentile in this case. The Jews have the bloodline of Jesus. The genes in their offspring carry something different that ours do not.

Q-3: Furthermore, if God really created Adam not knowing either good or evil (Gen 3:22), how could such a harsh and enduring punishment as death for Adam and all his descendants possibly be just? Our secular courts are more just than God when they show mercy on people who cannot distinguish between right and wrong, such as children and the mentally handicapped.
A-3: Look at it like this….
If I kill an ant, nothing will happen to me.
If I kill a bum & I get time in jail.
If I kill the the president, I get life.

Do you see what changed here? My sin was the same, but the punishment became more severe according to the authority. God has ALL authority.. so, His judgement is more severe.

Q-4: And why isn’t this doctrine of original sin found anywhere in the Bible except in Paul’s writings? Why didn’t Jesus ever mention it, or teach it?
A-4: He didn’t have to. The Bible was written & inspired by the Holy Spirit so we do not have to question this at all. Also, isn’t it a bit OBVIOUS that we all have sin? Isn’t it enough that we know, lying, stealing, murder, rape, fornication, homosexuality, not loving God above all else is wrong? The Bible says He wrote the commandments on our hearts so we can know right from wrong. see? There’s no reason for it. We have the Holy spirit to convict our consciences for when we do something wrong. That should be enough to realize WE NEED A SAVIOR, Jesus Christ.

Oh joy, another contradiction.

We are NOT being punished for Adam’s sin. We sin too! We are only responsible for our own sin. We did not inherit "original sin". We inherited the sin nature.

There is justice in All Mankind being saved through a sacrifice of one Man (Jesus Christ)

Jesus does not talk about sin cause He did not know sin………

To me seems each story tries to outdo the one before it. It’s a tough nut to swallow. a snake gets Eve to feed Adam an apple which throws this world into Chaos. Why is it the more religious the country is the more violence and hatred it endures. Check the countries with less relgions and see for yourself.

Because the bible is corrupt. How many times do we have to say it, it has been altered 200 years after after Jesus pbuh was raised to Allah and another person crucified instead of him. This why we have the Quran today, in its original Arabic, 1 version original, as it was revealed and verified by Mohammad Pbuh. The Quran states that no one will carry another persons burden, this means that Jesus Pbuh, did not die for anyone and no on is cleansed because people constantly need to be good and do good things. If you are stuck with the mentality that you are saved, you will start enjoying your life, who cares about the poor.. we have humanitarians.. who cares about the environment.. we have Greenpeace..

We are not punished for Adam’s sins, We are punished for our own sins. Yes Adam Sinned and That sin was passed down to us, It is up to the individual to take account for their own sins, and ask forgiveness through Jesus. I don’t blame Adam as he blamed his wife and didn’t take account that he chose to not listen to God. I blame myself for allowing myself to continue to sin, and have asked for Jesus to forgive me, and vouch for me to God. So many blame God or others for their choices instead of fessing up and taking account for themselves. No one makes you do anything except yourself. If someone sins, it isn’t anyone’s fault but their own. No one makes you sin, it is a choice that you as an individual chose to do.

"If the bible itself says that children will not be punished for the parents’ sins (Deut. 24:16)."

Will not or had not?

"Furthermore, if God really created Adam not knowing either good or evil (Gen 3:22),"

They disobeyed God, failing His test

"And why isn’t this doctrine of original sin found anywhere in the Bible except in Paul’s writings? Why didn’t Jesus ever mention it, or teach it?"

Because Jesus taught directly primarily to Jews…and not everything he said was written down.

But the most pertinent quote by Jesus - taken out of context, but relevent - his his admonition to Peter: "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." John 21:22.

The fact is that all have sinned on their own, regardless of whether Adam did or didn’t.

Romans 3:23

…for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

We are just following in our father’s (Adam’s) footsteps.

We were created mortal, subject to death.

Adam did not eat of the tree of life before eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and God would not permit him to do so afterwards.

Adam did not know good and evil but he was created with intelligence enough to name all the animals and was told by God not to eat of that tree. He disobeyed deliberately so he would not be parted from Eve.

You have changed your subject from one sentence to another. There is a difference between knowing good and evil and distinguishing between right and wrong.

Eve was deceived, Adam was not. God had told them they would die if they ate.

Adam did not want to live without Eve so he ate, accepting God’s decree.

When he is resurrected in the 2nd resurrection, he will admit his sin and be cleansed by the consuming fire of God.

1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be SAVED; yet so as by fire.

1 Timothy 2
3 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour,
4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

John 21:25
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

If God chose Paul and none other to write of certain things, who are we to question Him?

Jesus did say this: Luke 11:50 "so that the blood of all the prophets spilled from the founding of the world may be required from this generation, (51) from the blood of Able, down to the blood of Zechariah, who was slain between the altar and the house. Yes, I tell you, it will be required from this generation"

Adam, spilled blood. How? He gave the entire world sin; Romans 5:12. Adam’s not knowing good or evil does not mean he did not know about law. Adam knew he was not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, and knew if he did he would die Genesis 3:2-3.

When Adam, and Eve, ate from the tree, they then knew what it was like to be a law breaker. When this happened, Jehovah God now said: Genesis 3:15, "And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel."

With this in mind, God’s prophets were now killed, blood was spilled Jude 14 says "Yes, the seventh one in the line from Adam, Enoch, prophesied also regarding them, when he said "Look Jehovah came with is holy myriads, (15) to execute judgment against all, and to convict all the ungodly concerning all their ungodly deeds that they did in an ungodly way, and concerning all the shocking things that the ungodly sinners spoke against him."

So, Adams sin lead to death, spilled blood, and the knowledge of law defiance . Able was the first man to be murdered. Able was looked on with favor from God, and his brother, Cain was not looked upon with favor. Cain could have asked Able to help him find favor with God, but instead Cain murdered his brother Able; Genesis chapter 4 (in fact there are two murders in Genesis chapter 4)

Adam did not have to become a law breaker. Adam had what we do not , perfection. Adam did not have to break the law, because in Adams day, nobody had broken law on earth. Yet, Adam did break the law, and with that came spilled blood, and enmity against Jehovah God.

Today, Jehovah God does have more mercy than our secular courts. How? Jehovah God forgives sins, through his son; Matthew 20:28, and leads mankind to everlasting life. Jesus, God’s son, had mercy on all types of people. We can repent, turn around, and get seasons of refreshing from Jehovah; Acts 3:19

Edit: I liked this question, because it sounds like a serious question.
